What if would-be contributors to websites could give literally anything of value–digital or physical property, too–instead of just limiting it to money? We’re talking for content maintainers, charities, election campaigns, educational establishments, religious institutions and more. Any initiative that better equips the user’s giving process would be considered innovation. For one, content monetization is a big business because most content creators and maintainers find it difficult to generate revenue for the media that they work with. Their choices are largely either in-content ads or charging for subscription. Both come with their baggage. Online ads, for example, is a $600B/year business and growing. We want to develop a solution that accesses a slice of that market. Essentially, partner websites would come to us, sign up for free and receive code for a widget plugin that would reside as a shape benignly on the left side of the website, floating translucently over materials with or without added attention drawn to it. When clicked, it would expand into a larger screen on the same page with translucent edges that would prompt the visitor to consider (optionally) contributing to the website in exchange for the otherwise free content use that they have enjoyed in recent days. Here’s where it gets interesting. We tell them that we will accept literally anything of value as a contribution. That means digital property, future virtual services and physical items, in addition to of course money. When someone decides to give toward the website, a contribution form is filled out detailing the title of the item, a description, pictures and/or a video, information about the contributor and other relevant data. Since the goal is to affect revenue for the partner websites, a solution is needed to turn assets into cash. We intend to use an online auction marketplace to do that, since it has the advantage of monetizing miscellaneous items in short order. Also, by connecting a contributor with a high bidder, significant overhead can be saved by avoiding having to ship to receive and process items, store them and then send them to a final destination. By arranging dropshipping from contributor to high bidder, the item need only be transited once and the savings can influence exceptional customer service for the item and process. Once the item is paid for, the contribution transaction can be completed. The proceeds will go toward both Bartyrz, the business, for its end-to-end services, and the partner websites for placing the widget plugin on their pages. Since it was free for them to sign up, this represents a significant, lucrative opportunity for both the receiver of contributions and Bartyrz. From the partner website perspective, it would generate free additional revenue. Accordingly, there is a plan to get the service on sites and begin improving the process of generating added revenue for content websites, as well as other compatible niche websites such as charity, election campaigns, educational venues, religions institutions, and more.
